Frequently asked questions.

Do you take insurance?

Currently we accept Medicare and Tricare, with an annual contract (*see below for more information). All other insurances are billed at the standard rate of $400/hour. At this time, we do not currently send claims to any insurances, but can provide superbills and notes for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We do, however, use your insurance for any lab work, imaging, etc.

How does billing work?

All billing is done via the portal, we ask that at the time of scheduling, you enter credit card information into the portal under the invoices tab. All professional services and supplements will be billed to the card on file at the time of service. We use an encrypted secure service “Blue Finn” No one has access to the specifics of card information in the system.

How does the annual contract work?

Patients with Medicare and Tricare will be billed an annual contract at their first visit. You can have the choice to make a one-time payment of $1600 for the year or pay in monthly increments ($133.00/month). This will include any office visits within that 12 month time frame, max allowable for the year is 5 one-hour visits.

What should I expect at my first visit?

The initial consult will be about an hour long and will involve discussing plan of care, current symptoms, previous treatments, any previous lab work as well as a physical exam. Please bring in any supplements/medicine you are currently taking as well as any previous lab work, imaging or biopsy reports you would like Dr. Carriere to review.

We will then schedule you for an appointment for blood work (usually the following week at the office, and a follow up appointment usually about 3-4 weeks later (scheduled for about an hour) to discuss the lab work and any imaging if needed done in the interim.

After the second visit, you will discuss with Dr. Carriere how much follow up will be needed. This varies based on the client and the complexity of conditions involved. Our goal is to put you on a path of optimal wellness and see you once a year!

What labs do you use for bloodwork?

We use Vibrant America for the majority of new patient lab work as well as annual/follow-up labs. The out of pocket cost is as follows:
New patient blood work ($718.80)
Annual follow up labs ($454.00)
Micronutrient ONLY ($350.00)
most follow up labs for specific conditions can be sent via Lab Corp or Quest and should be covered by your insurance

We can also use LabCorp for any routine blood work, genetics, etc. We send all of your insurance information with the samples and any out of pocket expense* will be invoiced to you directly from LabCorp. Any questions regarding billing after samples are submitted are directed to LabCorp billing department. *OOP Expense is completely dependent on insurance payments only, pricing varies. (this option you will need to request)

Please note that these are all estimates and based on base testing prices, your pricing could be more or less.

Do I need to fast for bloodwork?

For bloodwork we require a 10-hour fast. Plenty of water 48 hours beforehand, black coffee the morning of the draw is okay (no cream or sugar). If you are taking thyroid or hormone medication, do not take it the morning of the draw. Supplements are okay to take morning of the draw.
