Dr. Edward Carriere is a board-certified internist with over 30 years of experience in the Denver area. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver. Dr. Carriere co-founded a hospitalist company and served as a practicing hospitalist for over 25 years, including roles as Chair of the Department of Medicine at both Swedish Medical Center and Sky Ridge Medical Center.
Driven by a passion for understanding the root causes of disease and inflammation, Dr. Carriere pursued a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona under the mentorship of Dr. Andrew Weil, completing it in 2016.
A Holistic Approach to Health
In 2020, Dr. Carriere and his family relocated to Buena Vista, Colorado, where he established Integrative Medical Consultants, a concierge private practice. His approach combines evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies with traditional Western medicine to prevent and treat disease. Dr. Carriere believes in the body’s innate ability to heal when provided with the right resources and support.

Beyond the Clinic
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Carriere enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and snowboarding with his wife and children. An Eagle Scout, he actively participates in youth scouting and has volunteered at the National Western Stock Show, providing medical care to rodeo athletes. Currently, he serves as a volunteer firefighter for Chaffee County.
Dr. Carriere has delivered presentations both locally and nationally on topics such as diet, nutrition, inflammation, and cancer, reflecting his commitment to education and community engagement.
